Sony Officially Showing PSP2 (NGP)  

After having kept a rumor, PSP2 finally officially announced in one of the official event in Tokyo. The PSP2, will have new name as Next Generation Portable or abbreviated as NGP. Here are some features you can find in this Sony's latest hardware.
PSP2 NGPSony has ensured that on the handheld, you'll find a touch-sensitive OLED screen with high resolution and is certainly much higher than the first PSP screen, coupled with SIXAXIS control, dual analog sticks, a pair of front and rear camera on the handheld and panel behind which are also touch-sensitive. In addition, as has been rumored to also earlier, Sony said that this new PSP would have features equivalent to the PlayStation 3, equipped with WiFi and 3G wireless connectivity and will use a new game storage media, not longer use the UMD.

The following is a description from Sony regarding these handhelds: "NGP adopt a new game media, a small flash memory based on the memory card and dedicated specifically to all NGP Software. By using the advantages possessed by the flash memory, this innovative card could save so much data/games, plus an additional game content or save the results of these directly to your memory. By using this card-based memory, SCE will be able to present the card game with a much larger capacity in the future, allowing the developers to store more game data to the present games which much more compelling and rich content. "

Here are the specifications of the new Sony's brand-new handheld is expected to become a mainstay of Sony in the future.

• External Dimensions: Approx. 182.0 x 18.6 x 83.5mm (width x height x depth) (tentative, excludes Largest projection)
• touch pad Rear: Multi touch pad (capacitive type)
• Cameras: Front camera, Rear camera
• Sound: Built-in stereo speakers, Built-in microphone
• Sensors: Six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer), Three-axis electronic compass
• Location: Built-in GPS, Wi-Fi location service support
• Keys / Switches: PS button, Power button, Directional buttons (Up / Down / Right / Left), Action buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square), Shoulder buttons (Right / Left), Right stick, Left stick, START button, SELECT button, Volume buttons

Not only with that arouse specification, Sony has also announced several new PSP games that will be present for the game. Those games are games that previously have been released for the PlayStation 3 such as Uncharted, Killzone, Wipeout, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Hustle Kings and Hot Shots Golf. In addition, Sony also has confirmed that this new handheld will be able to play all those games from the PSone which supported by the PlayStation Suite and also will be able to use with PSP games. As a demonstration, Jun Takeuchi from Capcom also showed a demonstration of Monster Hunter 3 Portable for PSP.

Interestingly again, there are some developers who are even showing the game Yakuza 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 playable on the handheld. Activision has even announced a Call of Duty game for the new PSP. Are we now looking at the future handhelds will beat any other existing handheld? We'll see when the PSP2 (NGP) released in late this 2011.
